A Legacy of Learning
for Over 25 Years

In our town of Celebration, Florida, the Montessori way of teaching began in the summer of 1997, when a dedicated group of parents came together with the shared goal of providing a Montessori-style education for their children. Partnering with the Orlando Montessori Teacher Education Institute, they worked diligently to make that dream a reality.

On June 14, 1999, the school opened its doors for its first Summer School session, welcoming children ages 3–6 into two classrooms. Just two years later, in August 2001, the program expanded to include a Lower Elementary classroom for students ages 6–9. Continued growth led to a move in 2004 to its current, larger campus—featuring two Children’s House classrooms (ages 3–6), one Lower Elementary (6–9), and one Upper Elementary (9–12).

In 2019, the school was renamed The Montessori Academy of Celebration (MAC) to reflect its expanded vision and reach. The campus underwent a full renovation and added a new Adolescent/Erdkinder Program for students ages 12–18—offering Upper Elementary graduates a seamless continuation of their Montessori education through high school. Today, MAC proudly offers the only program of its kind in Central Florida, uniting Montessori’s time-tested principles with forward-thinking innovation.

At every level, MAC provides an individualized education that honors each child’s natural curiosity, independence, and potential. Students are active participants in their own learning—guided by teachers and supported by a strong partnership with parents. The community fosters respect for others, for the environment, and for the lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

Rooted in Dr. Maria Montessori’s pioneering philosophy, developed over a century ago in Italy, our approach continues to inspire millions of learners across six continents. The Montessori Academy of Celebration carries forward this legacy in a beautiful, tranquil setting within the award-winning town of Celebration, Florida—where tree-lined streets, welcoming front porches, and community parks create an atmosphere of connection and belonging.

Our location offers students unique opportunities to engage with the wider world. Surrounded by local businesses and families from around the globe, our classrooms reflect the cultural diversity and global perspective central to Montessori education. This vibrant mix of backgrounds enhances one of Montessori’s most powerful learning principles: peer-to-peer education. In multi-age, multicultural classrooms, students learn from one another, gaining empathy, perspective, and confidence as they grow into thoughtful citizens of the world.
